McCain Wins But Loses on Economic Message

Economy:

Why can’t John McCain or most republicans win a debate on economics? I am flabbergasted at the incompetence I see from the so-called conservative party when it comes to something so provable as basic economic principles. Barack Obama won the economic section of the debate. This was an absolutely failing of Senator McCain to point out the failures of liberal economic policies. The notion that raising taxes on the top 1, of whom 2/3 are business owners, is going to help stimulate the economy is absurd. Basic economics: Tax More/Get less; revenue, jobs and investment…hello!!! Look, the view of a free market having an adverse on an industry is historically not existent: car insurance, electronics, lasik eye surgery etc. Nothing But Truth: Simplify the issues to basic economics and recent legislative history.

Foreign Policy:

McCain took Obama apart on Foreign policy. Set aside the recent speech by Joe Biden who distorted, contorted and lied by omission in his presentation in Cincinnati. Obama does not have the shield of obfuscation (like in economics); there is a real time war at hand. McCain was masterful in his explanation of his policy positions on Iraq, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Couple this with his dominance on Russia invasion of Georgia as well as the nuclear proliferation of Iran and North Korea; he made Obama’s academic approach seem foolhardy. Lastly, he touched on the moral responsibility of leaders when it comes to crafting a foreign policy. Winner McCain.
