Setting the Record Straight; The Truth Still Matters.

This is a great day for America with the peaceful transfer of power along with the passion of Americans for our new President. I realize that people are saying that they are tired of the political rancor which has been replete with character assassination and irresponsible statements. I hate to throw water on everybody’s hope parade, but the truth needs to be told. Who are the people responsible for lowering the political rhetoric to the level of personal attacks and outright lies? Who said that our former President was harvesting minority and lower income kids to fight for his rich oil buddies in the middle east? Who said that all of this was based on a lie? Who said that he and his administration was wantonly torturing enemy combatants and violating international law? Who said the President didn’t respond to Katrina appropriately and did so because he did not like black people? Before he even entered office, he was demonized as someone who was not interested prosecuting three men who drag James Bryd to death? Oh and who said, he stole the election? All of these charges have been proven untrue: 17 UN violations, Bipartisan Senate Intelligence Report, www.InsideGitmo.com, Blanco and Nagin and National Gaurd rescuing people off rooftops check out gatewaypundit http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2005/10/katrina-facts-fiction-on-racism.html, all men in Byrd case were prosecuted; 2 of the 3 were sentenced to death and one was sentenced to life in prison, Bush won election and did not violate the civil rights of Florida voters; check out Peter Kirasow’s truth https://www.nationalreview.com/comment/kirsanow200310150822.asp. We know three things: the charges leveled against President were false, they were beyond the pale of civil, responsible debate and the left were responsible for them. So I think it is great that we elevate the tone; but me, and fellow conservatives never lowered it.
