The idea that not passing the stimulus would lead/cause/yield a depression is absurd. I wonder if one journalist could ask the President or his supporters in Congress when this type of intervention has ever worked. I know that socialism is appealing; romantized in music and revisionist history. The cold reality is: socialism is an impoverishing idea for everyone. Peace, love and communal-ism are great for John Lennon lyrics. Unfortunately, they are terribly painful for an operating form of government. Please tell me why European socialist countries have been implementing free market reforms? Also, are you at least curious about the impact of socialism as an economic organizational model yielding a Communistic political system? Of course, if you buy into the notion that Communism is a benign form of government that has just not been appropriately applied, well then there is no hope for you; Walter Duranty must be remembered as a model journalist rather than a scribing parasite who condemned people to torture through his lies. Yes, intellectual dishonesty does have consequences, but this isn’t an example of that, this is pure deception. The media won’t ask hard questions about Obama’s move towards socialism because they agree with it! The mainstream media is trying to hide the cost of Obama’s socialist fantasy. Decades after the conservative Goldwater-Reagan Revolution the liberals have their opportunity to radically change America and redistribute massive amounts of wealth. The media wants to usher in a new progressive era and the facts won’t stop them.
I just have to be thankful that there are people like Crane who have the GUTS to actually speak the truth.
